President Obama has declared an emergency in the state of New York.
This move authorizes federal aid to supplement state and local response efforts during Sandy.
The President's action also authorizes FEMA to coordinate all disaster relief efforts throughout all of New York's counties.
Relief efforts include identifying, mobilizing and providing equipment and resources necessary to help during an emergency.
