With the worst part of Sandy behind us, travel is starting to get back on track at the airport.
Although airport officials say the Greater Rochester International Airport itself was impacted very little by the storm, thousands of flights to and from the east were canceled.
Flights to and from New York City, Philadelphia and Washington were impacted the most, and there are still several cancelations to and from those destinations.
The airport director says despite the storm, airport operations in Rochester continued as usual.
"We prepare for the worst, we hope for the best, and we're used to this kind of stuff. But no effects as far as we're concerned," said Mike Giardino, Airport Director.
Travelers are still encouraged to contact the airline or check the airport's website before heading to the airport.
