How Old is Too Old for Trick-or-Treating?

It is a fairly common question when we are young, at what age should you stop trick-or-treating?
YNN Reporter Geoff Redick asked one trick-or-treater, "How old is too old to go trick-or-treating?"
She said, "They told me I couldn't go trick-or-treating, and I'm 16."
When Geoff asked more people celebrating Halloween the answers varied.
One person said, "I'd say about 15." Another person said, "Probably 16?"
Teens across the country struggle with it, every Halloween.
Geoff asked a trick-or-treater, "Jenna, how old are you again?" Jenna replied, "I'm fourteen."
Geoff asked, "And how old is too old to go trick or treating?" Jenna said,"I think seventeen."
Even when YNN asked viewers on Facebook, there was no right answer. Some even say, "you're never too old." But there are no academic studies YNN could find, and seemingly, no general standard. But YNN wanted to look for a more definitive answer.
So Geoff suited up in costume as a YNN reporter bringing along this undercover camera. Hoping to still look youthful enough, Geoff went door-to-door, for that time-honored tradition.
One person said, "You look a little old to be trick-or-treating!"
Everywhere Geoff went, he got candy, but definitely got some different reactions, too.
"Good costume," said one person. Another asked, "You out taking pictures tonight?"
Later, Geoff went back to ask about how those homeowners handled the situation.
Jaqueline Dwyer of Batavia said, "I just thought you were out trick-or-treating like everybody else, and I thought, 'Why not? It's a great night."
Geoff asked her, "How old did you think I was when I came to the door?"
Dwyer replied, "I was guessing probably like 20."
Travis Walsh of Batavia said, "You made the effort to come out and say 'trick-or-treat,' had the bag and everything, so I'm gonna reward you."
So how old is too old?
Dwyer said, "I think anybody who wants to come, should come! And if we've got candy, we'll give it out."
A homeowner said, "If you're reasonably dressed up, and polite, you get candy."
While another person said, "As long as you're enjoying it, with a smile on your face, I don't have a problem with it."
Just be mindful, that some might think you're stealing candy from a baby.
