A party was held at Joe Bean Coffee Roasters on Monday to launch City Dining Cards, a deck of cards with discounts on local restaurants.

The pack costs twenty dollars and contains fifty discount cards valued at $10 for locally owned favorites such as Rocco, the Frog Pond and The Distillery.

Five percent of all sales will be donated to Foodlink.

"We have decks in cities like Philadelphia and Boston, and I think there are a lot of restaurants in Rochester that are on par with the big cities," said Dave Horesh, City Dining Cards regional manager. "And if this a mechanism that the restaurants can use to bring
somebody in that might otherwise be going to the mall to eat, then we're going a good thing for small businesses in Rochester."

The decks can be purchased online until the end of 2013.
