Rochester Man Re-Sentenced for Murder of Former Girlfriend
A Rochester man was re-sentenced Tuesday for the 2005 murder of his former girlfriend.

Jeffrey Miller was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison.

Miller was originally convicted back in 2006 for shooting Shunda Cuyler to death, but that verdict was vacated by an appeals court due to technical issues surrounding the verdict sheet in the case.

The Monroe County District Attorney's Office retried Miller and he was re-convicted.

Miller also was concurrently sentenced for assault and weapons charges, which means he'll serve a minimum of 32 years before he is eligible for parole.

District Attorney Sandra Doorley said she is hopeful that this verdict will give Shunda’s grieving family a final measure of closure.
