Buckingham Properties Relocates Headquarters to Alexander Park
City leaders celebrated the grand opening of Buckingham Properties' new headquarters. The development company moved to Alexander Park, on Alexander Street.

Buckingham Properties is leaving a major mark on the Alexander Street neighborhood.
"It anchors this end of Monroe Ave and shows a very substantial investment in it. Now he's actually taken over a good share of Alexander Street," says Tom Richards. (D) Rochester Mayor. "They've been a major commitment to this city for a very long time and they are a real important part of our city."
The developer has already invest $83 million dollars for the redevelopment of the former location of the Genesee Hospital Complex.
"We've demolished about half of it. We've rebuilt the balance that's there. We're re-populated it with tenants. Now we're getting ready to rebuild what we call the north campus," said Larry Glazer, Buckingham Properties, CEO.
Friday evening, the company celebrated its own move into the Alexander Park neighborhood.
"We are really proud of all you've done and we are particularly proud that you are now a citizen of the city with your offices here," said Carlos Carballada, Neighborhood and Business Development Commissioner.
The company held a grand opening ceremony for its newly renovated 7,500+ square foot office space.
"The real purpose of a move is we needed more efficient space, a larger headquarters to allow for growth. We wanted to be in the city, we wanted to have parking in an area where we are doing a lot of work," said Glazer.
Glazer believes the area is key to the future of downtown Rochester.
"We believe what we know call Alexander Park is the lynch pin between the East End and the South Wedge and it's the very high population end of the City and it's where we think the future growth for downtown is going to be," said Glazer.
The company currently owns and manages more than 40 properties in the Rochester area.
He says building its $1.4 million dollar headquarters in Alexander Park is just the beginning of the company's upcoming plans.
"But we're going to leave that up to the City to make an announcement on future investment plans. We are working on some other projects," said Glazer.
