Toddler Remains in Hospital After Car Crash Involving Horse Drawn Buggy
A three-year-old is in guarded condition following a crash involving a car and a horse drawn buggy in Seneca County Sunday.
Sheriff's deputies say a car crashed into the buggy carrying six Amish people on County Road 139 in the Town of Ovid around 7:30 a.m. Sunday. The buggy flipped over and all six people were thrown from it.
The driver of the buggy, 39-year-old Benjamin Esh, and 16-year-old Katie Esh were taken to Strong Hospital in Rochester and have since been released. Three-year-old Abner Esh was taken to Strong by Mercy Flight and is listed in guarded condition.
Benjamin's wife, Fannie, was treated at the scene, and seven-year-old Sierra and one-year-old Benjamin were treated at a local hospital and released.
The driver of the car, 29-year-old Natalie Covert, was charged with failure to reduce speed when approaching a horse.
