One is a bus replacement plan to replace its bus fleet of about 80 buses in the next five to seven years. The superintendent says that it will keep the buses under warranty, eliminates the need to hire mechanics and increases trade in value.
The other item is a capital reserve fund. The district said a fund of no more than $15 million will be used to fund future renovation projects.
The improvements will address safety concerns at Chestnut Ridge Elementary and Churchville Elementary schools. Both schools would see improvements to accessibility and site access.
The projects will be funded by state aid and from funds from the districts capital reserve, meaning there would be no tax impact on the community.
The proposal calls for turf fields and new lighting at Sutherland and upgrades to the turf fields at Mendon.
Some neighbors were concerned about the impact of new lighting on their neighborhood.
The $43 million project will be paid for in part by the state and with reserve funds, but taxpayer dollars are also needed. The district says it would be about five dollars a year for the average home over 15 years.
A proposal for renovations at all nine Pittsford schools also passed.
A second proposition to establish a capital reserve fund of $2.9 million for future capital improvements was rejected by voters.
