Local Concert Held for Newtown Victims
A free benefit concert was held at California Brew House in Rochester Thursday night for the victims of the Newton, Connecticut tragedy.

Local hip hop artist and promoter Tramayne Watson, also known as "True Star," had originally scheduled this event to make a profit, but Watson says he was in a store when he first heard about Newtown and he could hardly move.

He doesn't know anyone one that's associated with the shooting, but feels like the least he can do is give back to the Newtown families. His other motive is to give people a positive look at hip hop music.

Watson said, "That's pretty much my goal is to shine a light on the positive energy and how great hip hop can be and how great artist we are. But first we're people. and as a human being and as a person you had to feel that."

Watson, Muze Society, and the other contributing musicians collected a $5 minimum donation to be given to the families in Newtown.
