Members from the Department of Veterans Affairs, Monroe Community College and the Monroe County Veterans Agency are putting on a benefits fair for veterans on Saturday, January 12th.

Ken Moore, the Outreach Coordinator for the Monroe County Veterans Agency, said that many Veterans may not know about the services and discounts that are available to them, so this event will be showcasing more than 45 different providers of veteran services throughout the county.

"If a veteran brings their DD-214 to the event there's flu shots they can have. They can actually enroll in the VA Health Care system there. Monroe County will be providing veterans discount cards for veterans and just a whole mass of benefits that are out there that are due to them. It's a great opportunity," said Moore. "I think you'll get a lot out of it."

"You know we still have a few tables available if anybody wants to get a hold of me they can most certainly participate. But it's all the providers that do things to help veterans with benefits," Moore added.

The fair will be held on MCC's campus on January 12th, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
