A Rochester man is facing driving while intoxicated charges after crashing into a Batavia home and rupturing a gas line early Saturday morning.
Batavia Police say Corey Goff, 22, was speeding eastbound on Route 33 when he went through a roundabout and hit a curb, sending his car airborne.
The car hit a lamp post and several signs before flipping and eventually crashing into a home on South Main Street around 5:20 a.m.
The crash ruptured a gas line, so police evacuated the people in the surrounding homes until the gas company could come to shut off the gas.
A neighbor said he was sleeping when he heard the crash.
"It was loud," said Rob Ogeen. "It was loud, like Santa Clause landed on top of the roof."
Goff was not injured. Police say he is charged with DWI, speeding and reckless driving among other charges.
