Community support of the West Webster Fire Department is still pouring in.

A morning walk was held Saturday to honor the firefighters killed and injured on Christmas Eve.

The organization, Operation Patriot Foundation, put together a walk for West Webster Firefighters at Greece Ridge Mall.

Dozens of people came out to the charity walk. They included first responders and military personnel from around the area, and some from out of town.

The event was intended to bring the community together for a one lap walk around the mall to pay tribute to firefighters Mike Chiapperini, Tomasz Kaczowka, Theodore Scardino, Joseph Hofstetter and Greece Police Officer John Ritter.

"I woke up in that morning and got the news I was stunned," said Operation Patriot Foundation President Mark Rossney. "I don't know how to express my emotions. As an organization that supports fire, police, and military we needed to do something. So we put this together."

Money raised at the event will be donated to the West Webster Volunteer Fireman's Association.
