Abby Wambach is FIFA Women's Player of the Year
Abby Wambach has been voted FIFA Women's Player of the Year.
The Pittsford native and U.S. Women's soccer star becomes the first American to win the award since Mia Hamm did it back in 2002.
The 32-year-old Wambach edged teammate Alex Morgan and five-time winner Marta of Brazil in the voting.
Abby scored five goals in London as the U.S. won its third straight Olympic title. She has 152 international goals, six shy of Hamm's record.
