Foul Play Not Suspected in Death of Brighton Woman
Brighton Police do not suspect foul play in the death of a woman whose burned body was found on Riverside Drive in Brighton Tuesday.
"When the fire department arrived the fire was out but the woman had been burned," said Rochester Fire Chief Sam Mitrano.
Mitrano says investigators were called to this home that sits on a dead end on Riverside Drive just before 5 p.m. Tuesday. He says a woman was deceased at the scene.
Brighton Police Chief Mark Henderson says investigators are trying to figure out what led to the fire, and the circumstances surrounding her death.
John Rowe Jr. says he's a friend of the woman who lived there and rushed to the scene when he heard what happened. He calls the discovery shocking.
"Really really nice girl. This is just sad, really sad," said Rowe.
Investigators are trying to determine what led to the fire and exactly how the woman died.
