The Burgundy Basin Inn and The Basin Pub and Labatts are hosting what is said to be "Rochester's first and only premier pond hockey tournament on the Erie Canal."
The four on four hockey tournament will be held January 26th and 27th at Pittsford's Burgundy Basin Inn.
Mini hockey rinks will be set up on the canal and besides the hockey games, fans can enjoy food and drinks specials, and even live music.
"We have the grand ballroom all day. We have a Capitan's party at the Basin Pub Friday night that's open to the public," said Tracy Scott of High Falls Hockey. "We have a player and spectator party on Saturday night inside the Basin Pub with Catch 22 playing. That's also open to the public so it's going to be a good time. It's going to be a lot of fun."
This is the fourth annual tournament that has made its way along the canal at different locations including Fairport and now Pittsford.
There are still spots available for teams to compete on ice. So far 60 teams have registered in six divisions.
Registration to play is open until Friday and everyone is welcome to come and watch.
Prior to game time the fire department will check the ice to make sure that it's frozen and safe to play on.
Visit www.highfallshockey.com to register online. You must be 21 or older to play.
