New Fareboxes on RTS Buses

By: YNN Staff

New Fareboxes on RTS Buses
More ways to pay; that's the new motto for RTS buses. The RGRTA is installing new fareboxes on its entire fleet starting this month.

The fareboxes offer more flexibility for passengers to pay the one-dollar fare. Customers will be able to use coins as well as pay with larger bills.

Passengers will receive change in the form of a "Stored Value Pass," which they can use for future rides.

All-day unlimited passes will also be available on board.

The $4.3 million project is the first major update to the fareboxes in more than 20 years.

The new fareboxes are expected to be installed on all 260 buses by mid-February.
