Captain Matthew Porcari of the Owego Fire Department was killed after falling through a burning floor. It happened at a home in Newark Valley.

Another Owego firefighter partially fell through and was injured. Several fire crews had been inside the home prior to the collapse.

All of the residents made it out safely.

Porcari is survived by his wife and two children ages nine and 11.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
