A group of plow trucks were damaged after the barn they are housed in went up in flames just before 10 p.m. Friday.
When rescuers got to the Middlesex Highway Barns in Yates County, they saw smoke coming from the garage area. Plow trucks and other highway supplies for the town are stored there. No one was hurt.
According to the Yates County Sheriff's Office, at least one of the trucks is considered a total loss.
"There were three vehicles that were actually in the garage when the fire started. The majority of damage is to the structure as well the vehicles. Most of the other contents was salvageable," said David Harrington, Middlesex Fire Department.
Firefighters say most likely other towns will loan them trucks until theirs are fixed or replaced.
Town officials say it's too early to know exactly what the plan is, but they are planning to meet soon to discuss the options.
