The Greece woman charged with illegally purchasing some of the firearms used in the double fatal shooting in West Webster on Christmas Eve, appeared in Federal Court Tuesday morning.

Dawn Nguyen, 24, is already facing state charges.

The federal case against Nguyen was adjourned for 60 days so that she and her attorney can discuss the charges and decide whether or not to enter a plea.

Nguyen faces felony charges for allegedly lying on a gun application to purchase two guns.

Authorities say William Spengler used those guns to kill firefighters Mike Chiapperini and Tomasz Kaczowka on Lake Road December 24th.

"She is having a rough time obviously with all this publicity on the case. People pointing and talking and acting as though she caused the death of people is a tough thing for a young lady to handle,' said Nguyen's Defense Attorney, Matt Parrinello. "It is not easy, she is not the bad guy, she is not, she did not cause any deaths."

She will return to Federal Court April 1st.

The state charges against her are referred to a grand jury.

She remains free on her own recognizance.
