Group Claims Border Patrol Awarded for Arrests
A New York based immigrant advocacy group claims the US Border Patrol used bonus programs to award agents for making arrests.
In the report, Families for Freedom said the Border Patrol is rewarding agents with cash bonuses, vacation time and gift cards when they make arrests.
Families for Freedom said agents at the Rochester train and bus station arrested nearly 300 people who were in the country legally. The report also says many of the arrests were made because of Border Patrol database errors.
YNN is awaiting comment from the Customs Border Patrol about the report.
