After an alert citizen led police to the arrest of two Rochester teenagers Tuesday night, the Rochester Police department is encouraging others to do the same.
Police say the person called 911 after they spotted a suspicious person at a relative's home on North Goodman Street. Police responded and arrested two people for stealing an X-Box 360 and several games from the home.
Officer Justin Collins said the Rochester Police Department is hoping others will call the police when they see suspicious activity.
"It comes down to the community; you're helping your community. If you're living in this neighborhood; if you're living in any neighborhood in the city, and you contact the police when you see something that's not quite right, that gives us the opportunity to catch these people and help protect this community," said Collins.
Police say people can remain anonymous when they call if they are afraid of retaliation.
