A Good Samaritan jumped into a box truck after he saw the driver slumped over in the front seat.
John Watson says he was idle in bumper-to-bumper morning traffic on 590 South around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday when he saw a truck knocking over street lights and scraping on the concrete wall coming up behind him.
When the truck passed, he saw the driver hunched over. Watson, a Nothnagle realtor, said he followed the truck, then jumped into the driver side window to turn off its ignition.
"Don't be afraid to get involved. When you see someone who really needs help, especially in a situation like this, you know, a lot more people could have gotten hurt. Knocking poles down... it's just good to try to help if you can," Watson said.
At the time Watson turned off the truck, he said the driver was just becoming conscious and wasn't aware of what had happened.
We're told the driver of the truck is doing okay.
