YNN and its parent company, Time Warner Cable, are working to "Connect a Million Minds" through a national effort.
Its aim is to focus students on STEM or Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.
The FIRST Robotics Regional Championship kicked off on Friday and held its final rounds at RIT Saturday.
Forty-nine teams registered for the event, competing for a chance to be one of the top three teams that will move on to nationals next month in St. Louis.
"We're trying to inspire the next generation of scientists, technologists, to solve the problems the world has today," said FIRST Regional Director Glen Pearson. "But, we're also trying to teach them how to be great professionals and great people."
YNN's parent company Time Warner Cable is a proud sponsor of the regional championship as well as the McQuaid Jesuit team "the IgKnighters."
