Frederick Miller, 61, is the man whom police say got into an argument with his girlfriend, Rachel Miller, 53, —n Monday morning inside the couple's home on Oak Orchard River Road.
Police say around 7 a.m., the argument spilled outside, and that's where they believe Frederick Miller used his hands and some sort of weapon to beat Rachel Miller to death. Her bloodied body was discovered only partially-clothed along the side of the road by a passing school bus driver.
Our crews on the scene Monday morning reported seeing officers with guns drawn, surrounding a home near the crime scene.
"Investigation led us to believe that the individual came from a nearby home, and the gentleman inside the home was apprehended, brought to the station here and interviewed. We subsequently arrested him on the charge of murder 2nd," said Sheriff Scott Hess.
Frederick Miller is being held without bail.
Sheriff Scott Hess told us that one important piece of evidence was discovered next to the victim, Rachel Miller's body. He was not willing to say what that evidence was.
Deputies continue to investigate the scene on Oak Orchard River Road, and the couple's nearby home.
