A Kendall man is in custody after allegedly shooting his wife and then trying to burn their home down.
Deputies with the Orleans County Sheriff's Office say Linda Buehler, 58, arrived home shortly after 7 p.m. Monday and was confronted by her husband, 64-year old Dennis Buehler.
He allegedly shot his wife in the shoulder. She told police that the two struggled and she was able to escape.
Deputies set up a perimeter around the Peter Smith Road home. Before their arrival, Dennis allegedly set the home on fire and then shot himself in the face in the front yard.
Both survived the incident and both were taken to Strong Hospital.
Deputies say several charges are pending against Dennis.
Their home is a total loss.
According to Strong Hospital, both Linda and Dennis Buehler are in satisfactory condition.
