Rochester's City Hall Atrium turned green Thursday as city officials announced the theme and honorees for this year's St. Patrick's Day parade.
The Shamrock and the Trinity will be this year's theme, and Johnny Savino of Johnny's Irish Pub will serve as this year's grand marshal.
The festivities will begin Friday, March 15, with the painting of the green. On Saturday, a mass will be held at St. Mary's at 9 a.m., followed at 9 a.m. by the Running of the Green
5K.
A celtic faire runs from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Radisson Riverside, with the parade starting at 12:30 p.m. Saturday.
"Do a little practicing, practice your dancing, find something that's green some place, maybe practice having a few little drinks on the side here so you're ready, and we look forward to having you down here," said Rochester mayor Tom Richards.
The parade will start on East Avenue.
