Man Charged for Allegedly Stealing Electrical Wires
A Genesee County man is facing charges after a string of unusual thefts in Le Roy and the City of Rochester.

Le Roy police say Michael Nicometo, 28, was arrested for stealing high-voltage wires. Police say Nicometo allegedly cut and stole a high voltage wire in the Village of Le Roy back in June while the electricity was still connected to the main power grid.

He allegedly stole other wires at several other places between October and February. An investigation revealed that Nicometo is an electrician who has knowledge of the area.

Police searched his house and found more than $50,000 worth of electrical wiring and components.

He was charged with Burglary, Grand Larceny and Criminal Mischief and sent to the Genesee County Jail on $25,000 cash bail.
