One person was sent to the hospital after falling through ice on a pond Sunday afternoon.
Hilton Fire Department and the Coast Guard were called to help the Lakeshore Fire Department in the rescue.
This after three people fell through the ice of a pond. Rescue crews say one man was sent to the hospital and a firefighter is being evaluated for a strained back.
They say the three men were far out in the pond, making it a difficult rescue.
"It was probably a good 15 to 20 minutes to get him," said Lakeshore Deputy Chief James O'Coin. "They were out probably over a hundred feet. The water was approximately chest high, so the rescuers going out there they had quite a battle, quite a struggle getting out there. Cardio-wise it works these guys pretty hard to go get them."
First responders encourage people not to go out on the ice at this time of year. The ice is unpredictable with the warmer weather.
