A prayer service was held in Rochester on Sunday for the Cardinals who will be selecting our next pope.

The Diocese of Rochester held a special evening prayer at Sacred Heart Cathedral.
Parish community members gathered to pray for the cardinal electors who will gather in conclave this coming Tuesday.

Father Kevin McKenna tells us he hopes the new Pope will be someone with stamina for great responsibility, and someone who will unite communities, countries and nations.

Prayer Service Ahead of Conclave

"I'm sure the Cardinals who are going into the conclave have spent a great deal of time and preparation in prayer and we think that communities throughout the world should be doing the same, praying for them as they make this important decision," said Father Kevin McKenna, Sacred Heart Cathedral.

Whoever they choose, Father McKenna says that a new pope will bring a new, welcome perspective.
