John Walton School #16 to Be Renovated Instead of Closing
It appears a Rochester elementary school slated to close for good will now be closed only temporarily.
Superintendent Bolgen Vargas has released the final draft of his more than $1 billion Facilities Modernization Plan. It calls for the renovation of the John Walton School #16 building on Post Avenue.
After a $10.8 million Phase Two project, it would reopen in 2015.
In the final draft, nine school buildings would be renovated and four would close.
