Kendall Man Faces Attempted Murder and Assault Charges
ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- An Orleans County man accused of shooting his wife and then himself in Kendall earlier this month is now facing attempted murder and assault charges.
Orleans County Sheriff's deputies say Dennis Buehler, 64, was arraigned on attempted murder and assault charges in front of a judge at Strong Hospital in Rochester. Police had to wait until his condition was upgraded from guarded to stable to officially charge him.
Deputies say Buehler shot his wife in the shoulder after an argument when she returned to their Kendall home on March 4. Buehler is also accused of setting the home on fire, then shooting himself in the face with a shotgun.
His wife, Linda Buehler, has since been released from the hospital. An order of protection was issued for Linda.
The judge set bail for Buehler at $250,000 cash or $500,000 bond. Sheriff's deputies say additional charges are expected.
