Convicted Murderer Found Dead in Attica Cell
ATTICA, N.Y. — A man convicted of raping and killing a prostitute in Central New York back in 2007 has been found dead in his prison cell.
Craig Ingersoll was found hanging by a pair of shoe laces in his Attica State Prison cell Wednesday night.
Ingersoll was sentenced to 25-years to life in prison back in February. He was found guilty of second degree murder in November.
Ingersoll raped and killed Jennifer Bennett before dumping her body behind an Oneida County fire department in 2007. It was five years later that DNA evidence linked Ingersoll to the case.
