Three Rochester Residents Accused in Lyons Home Invasion Robbery
Police in Lyons arrested three people following an overnight home invasion in which a homeowner was held at gunpoint.
Charged are Shaka Nesmith, 18; Karon James, 20; and an unnamed 14-year-old juvenile. All three suspects are from Rochester.
Police said the trio held a 70-year-old woman at gunpoint while they stole cash and jewelry from her home on VanMarters Lane around 1:30 a.m. Thursday.
Police said an alert neighbor called police reporting a suspicious vehicle.
Police said after a short chase, the driver of the car was arrested. A second suspect was caught after a brief foot chase. Police later arrested the third suspect. Police said a search of the car unveiled two loaded handguns and stolen property.
Nesmith and James are being held in the Wayne County Jail on $25,000 cash bail, or $50,000 bond apiece.
The 14-year-old, who is charged an adult, is being held at the Monroe County Juvenile
