Lifetime Wins Appeal to Air Movie on Former Rochester Student
The Lifetime television network won an appeal to air its movie based on Christopher Porco.
He is a former University of Rochester student who killed his father and injured his mother with an axe in their Albany County home.
The movie, "Romeo Killer: The Chris Porco Story," will now air on Lifetime as originally planned this Saturday night at eight.
On Wednesday a judge temporarily prevented the movie from airing, but a New York State appeals court lifted the ban.
Porco wanted to stop the movie. He said the network needed permission to use his name since the movie represents a fictionalized account of the 2004 crime.
