A young Rochester native made his debut on the big screen Friday. He's in the new movie Admission starring opposite Tina Fey and Paul Rudd.

Travaris Spears, 12, and his mom made the move to New York City after traveling back and forth weekly for acting auditions. They've been in the city for five years now.

Admission was Travaris' first feature film, and he decided to surprise some of his family
back in his hometown with an extra special screening.

"I wanted to come back here to surprise my family because you know, they came here to support my movie," explained Travaris. "It was a great experience for my first time, you know, working with such experienced actors"

Travaris will be in another movie called Something Whispered coming out in 2014.
