Sct'd Snow Showers, Steadier Lake Snow West
Areas of Slick Travel and Reduced Visibility
Coming This Monday, 12/16, Weather on the Nines will become Weather on the 1s.
After a brief period of snow showers moving across the Rochester area this evening with some slick travel and reduced visibility, it looks like the steadier snow showers will set up south and southwest of Rochester across the Southern Tier, Wyoming County and across the Finger Lakes. Areas of slick travel are likely tonight with the worst driving conditions to the southwest. Otherwise, windy and cold with lows in the upper teens to low 20s.
Blustery and cold Wednesday with scattered snow showers and some steadier lake snow west. Temperatures will peak in the mid 20s. Wednesday night and early Thursday, areas of north of the Thruway will see some steadier snow emerge from Lake Ontario with slick travel and reduced visibility.
Thursday afternoon, we’ll be back to scattered snow showers and some steadier lake snow southwest again. Friday also looks to feature scattered snow showers and steadier lake snow southwest.
Low pressure will then disrupt the lake snow somewhat this weekend, but it looks like some more widespread light snow will fall Saturday, with widespread snow Saturday night and treacherous travel for all giving way to scattered snow showers again for Sunday.
