Trio Charged in Alleged Embezzlement Scheme
State Police, the Wayne County District Attorney's Office and the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development announced the arrest of three Wayne County women Friday.

The three face a felony grand larceny charge after authorities say they stole thousands of dollars from a Wayne County business.

State police charged Kelley Girard, 39, Carrie Girard, 31, and Kortni Calabrese, 26. Investigators say the trio stole the money from their employer - Community Action for Self Help - or C.A.S.H., in Lyons.

The business provides Section 8 housing and other services to the citizens of Wayne County.

Investigators said Kelley Girard was employed as the executive director, Carrie Girard as the office manager and Kortni Calabrese as the bookkeeper. The missing funds were discovered by an internal audit.

Police say the audit showed $80,000 unaccounted for. The trio is accused of embezzling $15,000 of that.

Further arrests are pending.
