Police responded to the report of a stabbing Wednesday at an assisted living facility on Avenue D in Rochester.

When officers arrived around 2 p.m. Wednesday, they say the suspect was standing on the front steps of the home with the alleged weapon.

He was taken into custody while the victim was transported a nearby hospital.

Police say the suspect is in his late 40s and the victim is in his late 60s.
