The Seneca County Sheriff's Office said Emanuel Swarey, of Ovid, was swimming with family members while out boating. Witnesses say Swarey was not able to swim back to the boat and disappeared from their view.

He was not wearing a life jacket. The incident happened in the Town of Romulus.

The Sheriff's Office Dive Team recovered Swarey's body about two hours later. Sheriff's deputies say Swarey was in about 20 feet of water.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
