BUFFALO, N.Y. — Sabres fans will get their first look at 2012 top draft pick Mikhail Grigorenko and other prospects at the club's 2012 development camp July 8-13 at First Niagara Center. The camp will feature some 38 Sabres prospects, including the team's entire 2012 NHL draft class. Also scheduled to participate are the likes of Marcus Foligno, Luke Adam and Corey Tropp, who all spent time in both Buffalo and Rochester last season.
The Monday-Wednesday (July 9-11) on-ice practice sessions are free and open to the public from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The Blue and Gold Scrimmage on Thursday, July 12 will cost $10.
The Rochester Americans announced Tuesday the team has signed forwards Evan Rankin and Rick Schofield to American Hockey League contracts.
Rankin, 26, appeared in 35 games with the Amerks last season, recording 29 points on 15 goals and 14 assists, as well as 12 penalty minutes and a +9 rating, after joining the Amerks on Nov. 25, 2011
Schofield, 25, appeared in 73 AHL games with the Syracuse Crunch last season, recording 17 points on eight goals and nine assists, along with 28 penalty minutes and a +9 rating.
