Memorial Mass Held For Fairport Senior
A memorial Mass was held on Thursday for 17-year-old Blake Cognota, who passed away January 12th after a courageous battle with cancer.

St. John of Rochester Church hosted a standing room only Catholic mass at 2:30 p.m. Thursday.

Fairport High School broadcast the service simultaneously for Fairport students and their families at the High School auditorium and gymnasium.

Many attendants were seen wearing a yellow 'Be Like Blake' ribbon in his honor.

The family made a point to express their thanks for all of the support given over the last year.

Blake was diagnosed with Ewings Sarcoma last February.

In the near future, a Memorial Scholarship Fund will be established in Blake's name.

Blake became a role model for strength. His self-created motto that all of us could benefit from listening to: Find Your Strong.
