Charlie Brown's Restaurant Faces Pending Litigation
A favorite stop for a good meal for so many in the Rochester area has closed.
A note, stuck on the front door of Charlie Brown's restaurant, from managers say the economic times led to the closing.
The restaurant underwent ownership changes in 2007 and some disagreements behind the scenes leave the diner's future in question.
"The name ‘Charlie Brown’ is actually my nickname from when I was a young boy," former Charlie Brown’s owner Charles Scanio said.
Scanio now owns Peaches Cafe in Webster. He's the man behind the restaurant name: "Charlie Brown's".

"It was a great meeting place for family, friends, business people alike," Scanio said.
Scanio sold the Goodman Street diner in 2007 to Bob and Bill Keller, but Scanio holds the mortgage to the business.
"They fell behind far enough that it became evident that there was a situation," Scanio said.
Scanio says he hasn't seen a mortgage payment from the Keller brothers in nearly nine
months, totaling tens of thousands of dollars.
The Keller brothers would not go on camera but told R News Scanio would not take their
payments because he wanted the business back.
"How would someone not want to accept mortgage payments? How could they not accept mortgage payments?" Scanio said.
Scanio says he wants to see Charlie Brown's reopen. But it may all depend on the mortgage that's in litigation.
"If it can't, if they can't pay up what is due, then just give me my building back let me get Charlie Brown's opened again,” Scanio said.
For now, the name, the business, and the building does not belong to him.
